The blog is up and running - check it out, comment ask questions, criticize with no mercy!
There's an article by guitar teacher Jamie Andreas, some comments about the new guitar, a brief description of my "Five Step" process for learning new music - my students call it "five-stepping," and the liner notes for te new CD. Next I'll post some comments about a great article by Gerald Klickstein.
It's a stunningly beautiful, amazing sounding, incredibly comfortable guitar by Robert Ruck. After waiting so long, I was afraid I'd built up crazy expectations, but it's still blowing my mind.
"Roberto Capocchi Plays Spanish Guitar Music" will be available starting July 7th.
Thanks to Scott Cadenasso for the recording and mastering, Aaron Grad for the liner notes, Jason Moss and Ben Chrisman for the photos, and for the designers at DiscMakers.
Music by Albeniz, Turina, Regino Sanz de la Maza, Tarrega, and more.
I just received the text for the liner notes for the Spanish music CD, written by composer and Washington Post music critic Aaron Grad. He writes program notes for the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra, and St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.

It looks like the new guitar is going to be ready late June. Robert Ruck composite top, raised board, Madagascar rosewood, custom set-up. I can hardly wait.
Steve Paxton is coming back to the helm of CSF's CMP. This is a truly unique program, so I'm very happy it's up-and-running again. and looking forward to this fall. Returning students get 35% lower tuition. And a brownie.
To celebrate, I'm bringing Daniel Weston and Stuart Green to do a three-part split bill with me July 30th, and Gabriel Ayala for two shows late August!
The new CD is mastered and ready to release as soon as the graphic design is done! A giant thanks to Scott Cadenasso for a great job and a wonderful time at Joots studio.
I'll be doing a little New Mexico and Colorado tour from July 29th to August 2nd with guitarists Daniel Weston and Stuart Green. We did this split-bill series a couple of years ago and had a blast. Details in the calendar.
New on the MP3s and Videos section - three videos from a concert with flutist Tracy Doyle - "Barbara Allen," "House Carpenter," and "Cindy" from Robert Beaser's "Mountain Songs"
Cruise around - the basic graphics are the same, but I've been overhauling the format and content of the site. For example, I've added videos to the MP3 samples page, and updated the links - I hope you like it.
Just got a note from luthier Robert Ruck that he's started making me a new guitar! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have arguably the best guitar maker in the world build me a custom instrument.

I've added a few MP3s of snippets of wedding selections - in the MP# page.
Yesterday, I just finished editing the last track for the upcoming CD "Music of Spain." I'm excited to hear the final mastering soon. Two new recording projects include some of my favorite Latin American composers: Piazzolla and Gismonti. I love my job.

After a week of see turtles, crocodiles, birds, iguanas, margaritas, snorkeling sun burn, cave diving, and almost too many hours of dancing every day, I need a break. So I'm back to work.
